History’s most barbaric king meets his match.
VERDI: Attila | Conductor Andrea Battistoni | Director Davide Livermore

A highlight of the season will be the triumphant return of Verdi’s Attila, following its suspension last year after only two critically acclaimed performances due to COVID. Known for his work with Opera Australia’s digital production of Aida, Italian director Davide Livermore’s colossal staging, including two live horses, combines with exceptional singers and Verdi’s soaring music and gripping story, to ensure Attila is nothing short of epic.

Opera Australia favourites, Natalie Aroyan and Diego Torre will reprise their roles as Odabella and Foresto. Alexander Vinogradov will make his Sydney Opera House debut as the titular King of the Huns, Attila, and Marco Vratogna will return to play the determined Roman General Ezio.

29 June – 10 July 2021
Tickets from $79 | Joan Sutherland Theatre
