Boubacar Gaye (Senegal), Panga Rodolfo (Cuba) and Amadou Suso (Gambia) have decades of traditional West African musical training and experience between them. After leaving their homelands and entertaining & educating people all over the world, till they eventually settled in Melbourne.

In this performance Bouba will play Doundouns – powerful bass drums which provide the strength and structure of each piece. Panga, issued from a famous Cuban percussionist family, while Amadou is a world class exponent of the kora – producing heavenly sounds from the 21-stringed instrument whose tradition he inherited from his kora-playing ancestors.

Together they proudly share the diversity of their heritage through traditional and contemporary forms of their musical cultures.

As Bouba states: 'We want to make people happy, make friends and dance. I can dance to your music and you can dance to mine – there is not much difference between us. We become closer by knowing this. We are not only musicians, we are family – in life & in music. Our audience is part of that family.'
