On Friday, 23 February, our feature acts will being Anisa Nandaula & Dave Eastgate with Andrew Nason as MC!
Dave Eastgate is an actor, stand-up comedian, writer and musician who lives in Sydney, Australia. He starred in the ABC/BBC/Comedy Central US smash hit, Ronnie Chieng: International Student and was nominated for a Logie Award for his portrayal of a cancer patient in Channel 9’s critically acclaimed drama series, Doctor Doctor. Dave starred alongside his comedy idols, Glenn Robbins, Magda Szubanski, Gina Riley & Jane Turner in the Comedy Channel’s flag ship, sketch comedy series, Open Slather. Other credits include the multi-award winning ABC comedy series, A Moody Xmas & its sequel, The Moody’s, as well as Maximum Choppage, Soul Mates, and Channel 9’s hugely successful comedy, Here Come The Habibs. Dave also appeared as Ken Blundell in the smash hit Muriel’s Wedding the Musical.
Anisa is a nationally recognised spoken word poet, play writer, educator and published author. She is the 2016 Queensland Poetry slam champion, winner of the XYZ Innovation in Spoken Word Prize and has performed at the Sydney Opera house and Splendour in the Grass. She shared her work on channel 10, the ABC and has now set her sights on stand up comedy. Within her first 6 months of stand up she became the Sunshine Coast laughable comedy champion 2020, won the giggle room comedy competition and won the audience favourite at the good chat Bratt pack finals. Her warm yet razor sharp insights on race, relationships and gender leaves rooms filled with laughter.
