Andrew Stockdale debut solo tour

UPDATE:: The current dates for the Andrew Stockdale Australian tour have been postponed due to international commitments based with the release of the new album.  Although promoters have tried to make the dates work, the schedules have unfortunately clashed for June. Promoters apologise to all fans however the good news is that the tour is being re-scheduled right now and we will announce revised dates shortly.

Wolfmother will play their last ever show in Melbourne at the end of April.

Frontman and sole remaining original member Andrew Stockdale will call it quits on the Wolfmother moniker after more than 13 years with a show at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl alongside American rockers Aerosmith on April 28.

The announcement should come as no surprise to Wolfmother fans with Stockdale set to release his debut solo single Long Way to Go to radio two days before the show, and his third studio album in early June.

Stockdale has revealed that he is looking forward to shaking the expectations that come with the name with the new record and lead single. “It’s about when people pigeonhole you, and categorise you,” Stockdale said speaking of Long Way to Go.

“It’s no up to anyone else to tell you the way your dreams can be fulfilled. It’s up to you to follow your heart and try and make things happen. Whatever someone thinks you can or can’t do, it’s not up to them. It’s up to the individual. And if someone thinks they’ve got me all worked out, well, hey, I’ve got a long way to go.”

Wolfmother members Peres, Elliott Hammond, Vin Steele, and Hamish Rosser will continue playing beside Stockdale as a solo artist.
