Shihad - Australian Tour 2016
After their FVEY tour in 2014, Shihad will be hitting Australian stages once again this June and July.
Kicking off in Melbourne, the band will head on their way to Perth for two consecutive performances before going to Fremantle, Brisbane and Sydney.
Coming up with something new, Shihad's 1996 break through album, Self Titledopus, that became affectionately known as The Fish Album Album, is now re-mastered and re-issued both digitally and on vinyl last April. Evolving from the semi industrial Churn (1993) through the heavy riff laden Killjoy (1995), The Fish Album bristled with a new found lightness of spirit as it collided with the maturity of a band fulfilling their potential as writers and incendiary live performers.
Shihad toured The Fish Album around the globe relentlessly, causing the songs La La Land, Ghost From The Past, A Day Away and the breakthrough single Home Again to burn into the consciousness of rock fans from New Zealand to Germany where the band based themselves for a good portion of ‘96 and ‘97.
Last year, Shihad released their ninth studio LP FVEY, demonstrating that they are far from done. They also spawned the fierce single ‘Think You’re So Free’, confirming their position as one of the hardest hitting, durable acts of modern rock n’ roll.
“Shihad are well and truly back and have taken an unlikely turn to produce what might just be the best album of their 26 year career.”- Fasterlouder.
Shihad is one of only few bands who manage to endure with such a cache of riches while continuing to demonstrate a surging hunger to evolve and perform.
Joining Shihad for their 2016 tour will be Adelaide punk rock trio Grenadiers.
Catch these shows and be blown away by Shihad's highly-charged performances!
