Bananarama Australian Tour

The wildly popular British pop duo Bananarama are heading back to our shores in February next year for a slew of dates. Fresh from this year's 'Reunion Tour', they will be performing in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

With a bunch of hits under their belt including 'Shy Boy', 'Cruel Summer', 'Robert De Niro's Waiting' and the eternally iconic 'Venus', it's easy to say they're one of the most successful female bands ever, with the most charting singles in the world.

Childhood friends Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward came up through the London punk scene, starting out as backing vocalists before teaming up with Siobhan Fahey and starting to write songs and perform with their friends' bands.

"Growing up, Sara and I sang in school musicals together. And when we formed Bananarama I never thought we'd make a career out of it." - Keren Woodward

'Cruel Summer', featured in The Karate Kid (1984), introduced Bananarama into the international music scene. The band's 1987 album 'Wow' debuted at #1 on the ARIA Album Chart, and spawned the smash hits 'I Heard A Rumor', 'Love In The First Degree', 'I Can't Help It' and 'Venus', cementing them as instant legends.

"'Venus' was such a massive hit for us. Everyone we talk to has a fond memory of those times. We had no idea we were creating this strong foundation in America." - Sara Dallin

Now, nearly a decade after the release of their last album 'Viva' and three years since their last performance on our shores, the iconic duo are set for their glorious return. Currently working on their 11th studio album, they've also been busy performing in sold-out venues across the UK and Europe, including a one-off run of UK reunion shows with former bandmate Siobhan Fahey.

"[An] all-killer-no-filler pop carnival, a masterclass in how to effectively present a heritage act." - The Guardian

"[Bananarama] lit up the Warfield. They were choreographed, in sync, beaming, and wearing just the right amount of sparkle. Their hallmark vocals were flawless, as though no time had passed." - The Bay Bridged

Sweetening the deal are special guests Tiffany and Amber. Tiffany's tracks 'I Think We're Alone Now' and 'Could've Been' catapulted her to pop stardom. Now based in Nashville, she continues to write and release music, including her most recent album 'A Million Miles'. With her debut album, she became the youngest female artist to top the Billboard charts. German diva Amber, on the other hand, popularised the hits 'This Is Your Night', and 'Sexual (Li Da Di)'. Who could forget, though, her part in super group Starz On 54 and their hit 'If You Could Read My Mind'?

Grab your tickets and bask in the grandeur of Bananarama's music with none other than the '80s royalty themselves!
