Located in Denman Prospect, Evelyn Scott School provides the community with state-of-the-art education focusing on 21st century education philosophies and offers both indoor and outdoor learning areas.

The school features integrated learning environments for all students, a cafeteria/canteen, a general purpose double gymnasium with seating for 300 people, a sporting oval and hardcourts, a library/resource centre, out of school hours facilities, great outdoor learning and play areas, and secure bicycle parking and storage.

Evelyn Scott School’s junior site opened in 2021 which accommodates 88 preschool and 600 primary school students providing capacity for quality public education in the Molonglo Valley.

Stage 2 of the school’s construction will provide high school accommodation for an additional 600 year 7-10 students, ready for the start of the 2023 school year. The high school will integrate with the primary school to form a preschool to Year 10 learning facility.

For school and community use, Evelyn Scott School features a sporting oval which is suitable for soccer, rugby league and rugby union, and includes two cricket nets. Additionally, the general-purpose double gymnasium will be suitable for roller derby training and competitions and include two full sized courts with line markings for basketball, futsal or indoor soccer, netball and volleyball. The school also features meeting rooms for a range of activities and gatherings. All of these facilities are available for community use by arrangement outside of school hours.

Like all ACT public schools, the new school delivers the Australian Curriculum, with specific facilities to enrich learning in the arts, music, and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) to ensure we are equipping students for the best possible future.

Evelyn Scott School is Canberra’s 89th public school and second zero emissions school. As one of the first zero-emissions school for the ACT, Evelyn Scott School’s design has a focus on sustainability.
