Kooinda Brewery

Kooinda began as the first residentially licensed brewery in Australia, where its award winning first release, American Pale Ale, was originally brewed on a 400L handmade brewery in 2009. It even utilised the family in-ground swimming pool to cool the beer as it transferred to the fermenter!

In late 2010, the Kooinda team took the plunge and moved the brewery to a site in Heidelberg West (near Latrobe University) and expanded its capacity to an 8hL system. We are now at a 16 Hl brew house, with 212 Hl tank spaces, with plans in place to double this by the end of 2015.

Kooinda has a diverse range of beers to suit all taste buds. From our Golden Ale ( a mash up of lager meets ale meets hop) as an introductory quality craft beer, to the Full Nelson BIPA for the biggest of hop heads! The Kooinda beer range can be found in many bars, restaurants and bottle stores Australia wide.
