Primrose Potter Salon

The Primrose Potter Salon is a beautiful, flexible space that is perfect for intimate concerts, recordings, talks, receptions and dining. The tesselated timber lined walls feature an inscription of a section of graphic score by Australian composer Percy Grainger, which exquisitely links writing, music and ornament.

Admire the transformational quality of the Primrose Potter Salon as it metamorphoses from a traditional theatre-style, to an immersive in-the-round experience to the relaxed and atmospheric Cabaret mode. Reflecting the diverse and extensive range of performances we offer, the beauty, intimacy and warmth of the Primrose Potter Salon is a unique and exciting performance space.

The inclusion of a smaller space supports and furthers Melbourne Recital Centre’s commitment to presenting emerging and upcoming artists as we can provide an acoustically and aesthetically excellent performance space for the events that attract a smaller number of patrons. With a seating capacity of approximately 130 people, the Primrose Potter Salon is the ideal space for an intimate and exclusive musical experience.
